    9. Escalates non-routine, complicated surgical specimens to Pathologist Assistants. 
    10. Record measurements, weight, volume and any abnormal findings as applicable. 
    11. Dissect surgical specimens and prepare tissues for histologic processing. 
    12. Complete all associated paperwork. 
    13. Follow the laboratory’s applicable procedures for job-related responsibilities. 
    14. Interact directly with pathologists regarding gross dissection/description activities, including defined specimen types that require direct supervision by a pathologist. 
    15. Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either correct the problems or immediately notify the histology supervisor/manager, technical supervisor, or director. 
    16. Ensure all corporate safety, quality control and quality assurance standards are met. 
    17. Ensure compliance with all local, federal, CLIA and CAP regulations. 
    18. Maintain a clean and well-organized work area. 
    19. Identify problem areas and recommend changes to workflow.

    40 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

     

    Major responsibilities include embedding, cutting and staining frozen sections for Mohs surgery. Candidate will also be responsible for accessioning and logging of Mohs specimens, ordering supplies, and maintenance of the Mohs lab and CLIA/OSHA compliance. IHC experience a plus.

They are a professional medical laboratory dedicated to the privilege of providing excellent Clinical & Anatomic Pathology services to the patient population.

     

    Must have grossing experience with all types of specimens large and small. No IHC needed at this time but IHS knowledge is a plus. A high level of confidence doing frozen sections is a plus. Participating and assisting with bone marrow and FNA's would also be an asset.

     

    Associate Degree is required.

    Candidate will be under the direct supervision of Senior Histology personnel, The candidate will work in support of the Department as a whole, to complete the daily assigned Histology workload.
